also on Saturday... stopped by the Art Prostitute release thingie at Six Space for a little bit to pick up their new issue. i was stoked because it came with a sweet Luke Cheuh tshirt (one of the only i've seen) and some prints by Seonna Hong, the Clayton Brothers, and Brendan Monroe. i wasn't really feeling the art on the walls so we didn't stick around for too long.

then went to the New Image Art Gallery to check out the Neckface/Date Farmers show. it was better than i had expected. there was a skate deck show in the back that was sponsored by Mediatemple and Threadless, and i was hoping to see some of the Threadless dudes there, but i guess they didn't make it out from Chicago. also i ran into Shepard Fairey, literally.

that was the first i had heard of them but i was pleasantly surprised by their work











i don't really care for Neckface too much but i thought his large installation made for a striking entryway






the decks in back had a skull theme going on.

the one on the left in the first picture was my favorite.
they had cut away all but where the trucks attached to the deck.


the baby coming out of the deck in this picture was pretty tight as well.
